A spell is spoken. A story comes to life. Project Abracadabra invites writers to join a creative movement to bring your work into the light and let it be heard.
C.T., this is a wonderful initiative, generous, collaborative, and exactly the kind of cross-promotion that makes Substack special. The focus on voice (both written and narrated) is especially smart. So much of what makes fantasy work is the texture of the language, the rhythm of the sentences, the particular way a writer names things. Hearing that performed adds a whole new dimension.
I write speculative fiction (the Digital Prophets series, technology, power, and the human cost of the machine). I'll be considering a submission. Thank you for offering this to the community.
Good deal! I’ve gotten a ton of submissions, so it will take me a bit to getting to it, but I promise you: all my down time is being spent pouring over submissions lol.

I think we’re in a time when the writer’s voice *needs* to be heard.
And the creative meeds to stir to life and create. I’m looking forward to all of it!

I knoooooow! I can’t wait. I’ve spent a large portion of the day trying to get a good intro sequence going!
I will jump on this. I will be emailing you today
I’m really looking forward to reading your submission! Thank you so much for participating in this community event!
Sent. It helps that most of it was already written. Just had to re-write the POV
